Virginia Board of Bar Examiners

All application fees for the Virginia Bar Examination must accompany the proper form of application. All fees must be paid by Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Money Order ONLY. No personal or firm checks will be accepted. Checks must be made payable to "Virginia Board of Bar Examiners". See the Rules for more detailed information.

ALL FEES ARE NONREFUNDABLE.

Bar exam fees consist of a fee for the Application and another for the Character & Fitness Questionnaire and Investigation.

Because application forms are periodically revised, applicants are encouraged to wait to submit their applications and fees until three months prior to the applicable filing deadline.

Character and Fitness Questionnaire and Investigation Fees

Applicants should file their Character and Fitness Questionnaires simultaneously with their bar exam Applications.

For students currently enrolled in a JD program For recent graduates who received their JD less than one (1) year prior to the filing deadline and who have not been admitted to practice law in any jurisdiction at the time of filing your Questionnaire	$400
